Dr. Mohammad Sharif Bin Abu Hassan
Chairman
Dr Mohammad Sharif graduated with a Doctor of Medicine (MD) from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) in the year 1990 with a Diploma in Aesthetic Medicine from the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine (AAAM). He started his career as a government medical practitioner in the Surgical, Orthopaedic, Medical and Paediatric Departments of Taiping General Hospital in August 1990. With more than 20 years of experience, he decided to run his own clinic, Klinik Hanan in May 2015. As the clinic business expanded into a multifaceted pharmaceutical business, Dr Mohammad Sharif currently holds the responsibility as the Chairman of Hanan Medicare Sdn. Bhd.
Over the years, Dr Mohammad Sharif had attended and completed numerous courses, workshops and certifications for self and career growth including the Certificate of Primary Care Cardiovascular Medicine (AFM, Malaysia) and Certificate of Primary Care Ultrasonography (AFM, Malaysia).
Part of the notable workshops he recently attended include the Revolutionary Breakthrough of PDO Thread at Mahsa University, Malaysia in 2016, Ultrasound in Obstetric Emergencies in 2017 and a course in Radiation Protection, Imaging Technology, Quality Assurance Management Program and Clinical Updates in 2020. As a lifelong learner and passionate about his profession, he is currently undertaking the Occupational Health Doctor Course by The National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health.
Dato' Farshila Emran
Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Dato’ Farshila Emran began her career as a tutor at Universiti Teknologi MARA before she became the Assistant Representative of Seves Sediver France, a French publicly listed, high voltage transmission equipment company in Malaysia, in 1990. She was later promoted to be the Malaysian representative of the renowned company until 2001. Within the same year, she established Idaman Pharma Sdn. Bhd. and started her venture in the highly regulated pharmaceutical industry.
In 2005, she took the bold step of taking over a pharmaceutical plant in Sungai Petani, Kedah and established Idaman Pharma Manufacturing Sdn. Bhd. (IPMSB). Not long after, she acquired another plant in Seri Iskandar, Perak. Under her leadership, IPMSB developed a synergistic partnership with Boustead Holdings Berhad (Boustead) where she facilitated the acquisition of Pharmaniaga Berhad by Boustead in 2011.
Dato’ Farshila was subsequently appointed as the Managing Director of Pharmaniaga Berhad and since then, she had tremendously enhanced the company’s value for the next nine years.Throughout the decade, she had claimed numerous awards, including the Anugerah Tokoh Srikandi by Gabungan Pelajar Melayu Semenanjung (GPMS) 2018; The Asia HRD Awards for Contribution to Society Award in 2018; Woman Entrepreneur of the Year 2017 by Aces Corporate Excellence & Sustainability Awards; Masterclass Excellence Award for Woman CEO of the Year at Utusan Business Awards 2015; MBA Industry Excellence Award - Health Services by The ASEAN Business Advisory Council Malaysia in 2013 and Anugerah Kesatria Puteri Korporat, an initiative by the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development, Malaysia in 2012.
She was also one of the guest speakers at ROSE KL 2018, a conference organised by AWANI where local and international influential and successful women personalities shared their inspiring stories of life, love and achievements with audiences of high achievers. She was conferred with an Honorary Master’s Degree by Cyberjaya University College of Medical Sciences in 2016. Dato’ Farshila is part of Universiti Kuala Lumpur’s Industrial Advisory Board and is also a member of the Global Science & Innovation Advisory Council Steering Committee for Malaysia.
In January 2021, Dato’ Farshila was the Chief Executive Officer for Hanan Medicare Sdn. Bhd. She helped Hanan Medicare Sdn. Bhd. to grow and expand from a clinic business in Shah Alam to a new pharmaceutical trading company in Kota Damansara. She became our consultant and company representative where she mentors and imparts her vast knowledge, experience and expertise to the employees at Hanan Medicare Sdn. Bhd. before becoming our Managing Director in 2022.
Sharifah Fauziyah Syed Mohthar
Regulatory Affairs Director - COO
Sharifah Fauziyah graduated with a B. Pharm (Hon) from Universiti Sains Malaysia in 1994 and received USM’s Royal Education Award for the same year. Since then, she has carved a 27-year career mainly within the regulatory capacity of pharmaceutical practice.
After a year of service at Hospital Kuala Lumpur, she began her career as a Regulatory Affairs Executive and later turned Manager in a multinational consumer goods company, Procter & Gamble (M) Sdn. Bhd. in 1995 for 7 years; overseeing the registration and regulatory requirements of over-the-counter products and cosmetics in Malaysia and Singapore.
In 2002, she took a courageous step out of her comfort zone to join a start-up Bumiputera company, Idaman Pharma Sdn Bhd. The company eventually joined forces with Boustead Holdings Berhad (Boustead) in 2005 and acquired a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility under the name Idaman Pharma Manufacturing Sdn. Bhd. where Sharifah Fauziyah gained vital experience in pharmaceutical products manufacturing as its Site Director.
When Boustead acquired Pharmaniaga Berhad in 2011, the event saw Sharifah Fauziyah being appointed as the Regulatory Affairs Director responsible for regulatory compliance, product registration, clinical affairs, pharmacovigilance and customer care for the entire Pharmaniaga group of companies. Amongst her notable accomplishments were leading the customer care team to be the first in the pharmaceutical industry to be certified under ISO 18295 in 2018; the successful registration of Pharmaniaga’s first New Chemical Entity, for affordable Hepatitis C treatment in 2021 and spear-headed the company-wide quality culture dubbed as the Do It Right culture since 2015.
Throughout the years, Sharifah Fauziyah played an active role with various stakeholders within the pharmaceutical industry. Aside from being a member of the Pharmacy Board of Malaysia since 2019, she is also associated as being a Member of the Malaysian Pharmacists Society Industrial Chapter since 2021; Member of the Advisory Board for Faculty of Pharmacy, University Malaya since 2020; Member of Scientific Committee, International Generics & Biosimilars Association since 2020; Regulatory lead for Malaysian Organization of Pharmaceutical Industries (MOPI) since 2019 where she was an Exco member from 2016 to 2021 along with other works with Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia and the National Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency (NPRA).
In December 2021, after 11 years with Pharmaniaga, Sharifah Fauziyah decided to pursue new opportunities and subsequently joined Hanan Medicare Sdn. Bhd. as its Regulatory Affairs Director in January 2022 and has since served as the Chief Operating Officer since June 2022.
